What is quality?
The manufacturing industry consists of processing raw materials to produce and provide products desired by customers.
Quality is important.
Quality is the inherent performance of a product and its fulfillment.
On the other hand, if the quality is not present, the product will not match the customer's needs.
In that case, the business will not be viable.
Therefore, in the manufacturing industry, quality assurance is important, and it can be said to be the core part of building trust with customers.
That is why it is important not only to deal with quality problems that have surfaced, but also to improve them from the root cause to create a structure that prevents quality problems from occurring in the first place, that is, to create a stable and highly reliable quality system.

Benkan Vietnam is working on building a quality assurance system using TQM (Total Quality Management).
In the past, Bengkan Vietnam's quality assurance had a strong tendency to rely on quality control, especially inspections, during the manufacturing process.
TQM, on the other hand, does not rely solely on traditional quality control, but is promoted with customer satisfaction (CS) at its core.
Specifically, quality is built in by optimizing and improving the value chain, from upstream source management to quality control and downstream after-sales management.
This does not mean relaxing our quality control system.
In a sense, I think this would mean strengthening the overall quality assurance (QA) system by establishing upstream source management and downstream after-sales management, with quality control as the core.
Next, I will explain the specific concepts of source management, quality control, and after-sales management.
Source Control
The first step in building TQM is the active introduction of source control.
Source control (SC) is the process of discovering and resolving issues such as product, function, system problems, manufacturing nonconformities, etc. closer to the source, such as planning, development, improvement, and design.
The main purposes of the resource management SC are the following four goals.
(1) Upstream: Higher up in the value chain
Measures will be implemented in the upstream stages of the value chain, where things are solidified, such as planning, development, design, and front-end processes.
(2) Early: Early stage of time axis.
In order to minimize the impact of a problem when it occurs and to allow more time for countermeasures, take action sooner.

(3) Origin: Cause/essence of the problem
By clarifying the gap between the desired quality and the current state at an upstream or early stage, we can visualize the cause and essence of the problem and take proactive measures.
(4) Origin: Existence of USP
Even if a product or function is excellent, if it does not have the value desired by the customer, that is, the USP (Unique Selling Proposition), then go back to its origins and examine the reason for its existence.
Quality Control
The main activity of quality control QC is in-process inspection.
Normal inspection refers to the quality of the product being compared at the end of the manufacturing process with the predetermined standard requirements, and checking whether the quality of the product is compliant with the predetermined standard requirements. etc.) to make a judgment.
However, relying too much on inspections performed at the end of the manufacturing process increases the inspection burden.
Furthermore, if a quality problem occurs, we have to strengthen our efforts each time, resulting in double checks and even triple checks.
In this case, there is a risk that quality problems will increase due to the need to deal with a huge number of inspection items.
On the other hand, quality control QC in TQM involves building quality into each process without relying too much on inspection.
In the final inspection of the process, we not only deal with the quality problems that have surfaced, but also improve them from the root of the problem, thereby creating a structure where quality problems do not occur in the first place, that is, stable and highly reliable quality. It is to do.
In a sense, this can be said to be source control within quality control.

After Control
Traditionally, when it comes to quality, there has been a tendency to think of it as an issue within the company, especially within the manufacturing process.
However, the products handled by Bencan Vietnam will only demonstrate their performance when they are installed on-site.
In other words, we cannot overlook the quality of the construction once the product is in the hands of our customers.
For after-sales management AC, first of all, emphasis is placed on the supply system.
Customers have not received the products or items they need during construction. Or, the special leasing tools required for joining have not arrived. If the equipment stops working due to a malfunction, construction will immediately come to a halt.
Therefore, the idea of delivering the necessary items, when and where they are needed, is extremely important.
In addition, we will always hold a construction seminar before construction to ensure correct construction.
However, if this construction seminar is not held or if the content varies depending on the person implementing it, the quality of the construction may be affected, so we will ensure that the seminar is carried out uniformly.
In addition, in order to link it to the source management SC, we candidly accept the opinions of the customers who will actually perform the construction, and utilize them in product planning, development, improvement, design, etc. We will also build a system.
